Dec 21, 2005 — A Canton Christmas tree farm will hang up its saws for good after this year's holiday season. The Van De Water farm has been a perennial favorite for many families in the St. Lawrence valley for nearly 20 years. But owners, Peter and Becky Van De Water, say it's been a family business. And with their kids grown, they want to spend more time traveling and enjoying their retirement. This is the last season for cutting trees, and sipping hot chocolate at the Van De Water's farm, just south of Canton. Last Saturday morning, Todd Moe stopped by for a chat with some long-time customers.
