DOT to Plant Trees on Rt. 3

The state Department of Transportation has agreed to plant trees and repair damage done to a scenic highway corridor in the Adirondacks that was the site of an extensive tree cutting operation this summer. One environmental group estimated as many as 4000 trees were cut, including many large, healthy trees on Forest Preserve lands adjacent to the highway. As Chris Knight reports, DOT now says its possible some of the work went too far.
