Mar 22, 2006 — St. Lawrence University students are among thousands from around the country this week turning away from more familiar notions of spring break - sun, beach and partying - in favor of lending a helping hand. Todd Moe spoke with a group of SLU volunteers at the St. Francis Inn, a Franciscan community in the inner city of Philadelphia, helping in its soup kitchen, women's center and thrift shop. SLU junior Theresa Kelso is leading the group.
