Aviator Finds Niche Teaching North Country Pilots

Listen to this story
Darren Mesibov started his flight instructor school at the Potsdam airport with nothing but a single-engine plane. He didn't even have an office - he'd meet students on the ramp leading up to the runway. He was just trying to build up enough hours to get his commercial pilot's license. But then he took out a classified ad, in the Pennysaver. And suddenly his fortunes changed. Gregory Warner tells the story.

(If you're interested in an intro flight, you can call Potsdam Aviation at (315) 262-0326. Or if you prefer to sit in the passenger seat, you can stop by the Potsdam airport any Friday evening. There's a barbeque from 6 pm till dark. And you might convince one of the pilots to take you for a ride.)
