Aircraft Project Will "Transform Region's Economy"

Listen to this story
State and local leaders say a deal unveiled yesterday in Plattsburgh could transform the region's economy. Laurentian Aerospace, a newly-formed company based in Montreal, will build a $64-million facility at the old Plattsburgh Air Force base. The firm will refurbish wide-body civilian and military jets. As Brian Mann reports, Laurentian executives say their company could attract 1500 high-paying jobs to Clinton County in the next three years. Special thanks this morning to Chris Mattle and Andrew LaFontaine at Mountain Lake PBS for production and research assistance. Also thanks to Jack LaDuke at Channel 3 News.
