Jul 14, 2006 — People in Jefferson County are more satisfied with their job prospects and quality of life than they've been in many years. According to Jefferson Community College's 7th annual survey of the community, residents are less concerned about the economy and more worried about housing and energy costs. The shift in opinion comes as Fort Drum's massive expansion has driven investment in the region. David Sommerstein spoke with Denise Young of JCC's Center for Community Studies, which conducts the survey. She says 14% more residents believe the region is getting better than last year.
