Books: a conversation with Ottawa author Charles de Lint

Listen to this story
Ottawa author Charles de Lint is widely popular throughout North America for his novels and story collections written in a one-author sub-genre he calls "mythic fiction." In his sixty-some publications, creatures of folklore, of legend, and of the author's own vivid imagination mingle with ordinary humanity in present-day urban and rural settings. Dale Hobson attended the Ottawa book-launch party for de Lint's latest release, the novel Widdershins, which is set in and around the imaginary city of Newford. Afterward, he spoke with the author by phone.
