Pataki pledges $20 million for Lake Placid conference center

More than two years after Governor Pataki first announced plans to upgrade Lake Placid's convention center space, the funding to move the project forward has now been set aside. Pataki traveled to the Olympic village Monday and told a crowd of local and state officials, community leaders and residents that the state is committing $20 million to build a new, state of the art Lake Placid conference center to be managed by the Olympic Regional Development Authority. As Chris Knight reports, it could be the last announcement of its kind from Pataki, who leaves office in less than six months.
