Plugging That Leaky House
Apr 25, 2002 — Since September's terrorist attacks, and now with the current violence in the Middle East, many people are looking ways to reduce U.S. reliance on foreign oil.
This weekend, the annual North Country Sustainable Energy Fair in Canton will draw attention to other sources of energy, like wind, solar, and fuel cells. And this year the organizers have put a special focus on conserving energy in older, drafty homes. The group Community Energy Services has been designated by New York State to coordinate energy efficiency programs in the North Country. Last year the group worked with Canton churches to help make pastors' homes more energy efficient. David Sommerstein reported on the project in May 2001.
