Oct 27, 2006 — The Democratic candidate for Governor, Eliot Spitzer, says he is withdrawing his support of the party's candidate for Comptroller, incumbent Alan Hevesi. Meanwhile, Governor George Pataki will decide today whether to call the State Senate into session to begin removal proceedings against Hevesi, who is embroiled in a scandal over using an employee as a chauffer for his wife.
