Scozzafava, Griffo heading to Albany

Republican Dee Dee Scozzafava won her fifth term representing parts of St. Lawrence, Lewis, and Oswego counties in the state Assembly. She defeated Democrat Karl Williams 58 to 42%. And in the 47th State Senate district, Republican Joe Griffo defeated Democrat John Murad 51 to 37%. Working Families party candidate Leon Koziol took 6% of the vote, as did Independence party candidiate Tim Julian. Much of Griffo's support came from the Oneida County and Utica area. Griffo bested Murad in St. Lawrence County by just 6 votes.
