Nov 08, 2006 — Republican Dee Dee Scozzafava won her fifth term representing parts of St. Lawrence, Lewis, and Oswego counties in the state Assembly. She defeated Democrat Karl Williams 58 to 42%. And in the 47th State Senate district, Republican Joe Griffo defeated Democrat John Murad 51 to 37%. Working Families party candidate Leon Koziol took 6% of the vote, as did Independence party candidiate Tim Julian. Much of Griffo's support came from the Oneida County and Utica area. Griffo bested Murad in St. Lawrence County by just 6 votes.
