Nov 09, 2006 — Democrats swept into the majority in the St. Lawrence County legislature Tuesday night for the first time in 13 years. They picked up an unexpected five seats and toppled several veteran Republicans in the process. When Democrats take control in January, their first items of business will be whether to keep longtime county administrator Don Brining and who to choose as chairperson. David Sommerstein spoke with one possible leader, Tedra Cobb, who was unopposed to win her second term. She says Democratic campaigned for more open and thoughtful government.
