Bus accident blamed on tire leak, driver cleared
Dec 06, 2006 — New York state police held a press conference yesterday to announce the findings of an investigation into last summer's fatal Greyhound bus crash on the Adirondack Northway. The crash left five people dead, including the driver. Dozens more were injured. Civil litigation filed by surviving passengers has accused the driver of talking on a cell phone or falling asleep before the bus careened out of control. But as Chris Knight reports, the police investigation faulted a tiny tire puncture.
