In Cranberry Lake, a feud over trail rights
Jan 15, 2007 — Snowmobile riders have complained for years that their trail network in the North Country is fragile. It depends on a patchwork of agreements with local and state governments, as well as dozens of private landowners.
In the northern Adirondacks, a snowmobile club is feuding with hunters over a trail that crosses land leased by the Cranberry Lake Fish & Game Club.
Sledders with the Cranberry Lake Mountaineers have used the route for years to reach the lake. But it was closed this season following a dispute over money.
We talked about the simmering disagreement with a member of each club, Bill White and Tom Morley - who reads from a prepared statement.
