Growing the marketing program geared toward farmers

The "Come Farm With Us" program is expanding. Launched in 2002 by Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida and St. Lawrence Counties, it was an attempt to preserve agriculture and agribusiness in the North Country. Essex, Franklin, Madison and Oswego Counties have joined the program. It's reaching beyond New York State trying to entice farmers to relocate here. Arlene Hall is a coordinator for "Come Farm With Us" and she tells Jonathan Brown that the program has already brought at least 75 farming families to the North Country.
