Feb 22, 2007 — The annual Snowflake Winterfest is this weekend in Lowville. You'll find lots of ways to celebrate the season: cross-country skiing, ice skating, a snow angel contest, chili cook-off and snow sculptures. Students at Lowville Academy have spent the last couple of weeks learning snow art from professional ice and snow sculptor Klaus Ebeling. He told Todd Moe that he's participated in 16 international snow sculpting contests in far away places like Greenland, Sweden, China and, most recently, Colorado.
