IP land deal consumated
Apr 03, 2007 — In another major development, state officials announced yesterday that they have completed an agreement to protect almost 260,000 acres of timberland in the Adirondacks. The $24 million deal involving the former International Paper land was first negotiated in 2004. But it was blocked for three years by local governments, including Colton, Parishville and Piercefield in St. Lawrence County. Martha Foley talks with Adirondack bureau chief Brian Mann about this deal.
