Theatre is often considered a great place to probe private feelings and public behavior, as audience members share a live experience with the actors. Spinning into Butter, by Rebecca Gilman, explores not only hidden racism but the political correctness that prevents dialogue. Director Ann Marie Halstead told Todd Moe that the show is based on a racist incident that occurred at a predominantly white college in Vermont.
