May 11, 2007 — Poetry, Shakespeare, tap dance and an original one-act play are all part of an evening of creative works by people with disabilities this weekend. The Spring Showcase will be Saturday evening (7 pm) in Dunn Theatre at SUNY Potsdam. NYSARC, a non-profit corporation that works for and with people with developmental disabilities, began the Community Arts Program two years ago. It offers people with disabilities a chance to express their talents in the areas of theater, dance, music, and visual art. And as Todd Moe found out, the NYSARC students also had the unique experience of working with college students and taking acting classes at SUNY Potsdam.
