May 17, 2007 — The man who died in a plane crash last month at the Adirondack Regional Airport in Lake Clear had assumed another identity for more than 15 years in an attempt to escape what police say was a criminal past. 49 year-old Scott Thomas has been tentatively identified through his fingerprints as Phillip W. Cook, according to State Police, who also found a suitcase with $60,000 in cash in the plane wreckage. Chris Knight reports.
