Malone volunteer to be honored by NY Senate

Listen to this story
A Malone woman will be honored at the New York Senate next week for her efforts to provide American troops based in the Middle East with basic necessities. Gladys Walker runs the non-profit organization called "Have a Heart-Adopt a Soldier". It's a mom-and-pop program that mails supplies and treats to members of the armed services stationed in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan. Her work is being celebrated as she becomes the 2007 recipient of the 45th Senate District Woman of Distinction Award by Senator Betty Little. Todd Moe visited Gladys and John Walker in early 2003 when they first began their volunteer project in their home, and caught up with Gladys by phone last week.
