Faith and healing in a North Country church
May 31, 2007 — Every week in churches across the North Country, people gather to pray for miracles. The idea that faith can heal broken bodies and cure disease isn't just found in evangelical congregations. More main-line Protestants, and even some physicians, are experimenting with prayer as a form of therapy. Today and tonight, the Rev. Nigel Mumford will conduct healing services at the Episcopal churches in Canton and Potsdam. Mumford is now the director of the healing center at Christ the King Spiritual Life center in Greenwich, New York. Brian Mann attended one of Mumford's healing sessions at the Episcopal Church in Saranac Lake last fall.
