Beekeepers facing new challenges

Listen to this story
Last fall, bees began to make headlines. Beekeepers in many U.S. states were experiencing sudden and massive die-offs. The oddity was named "Colony Collapse Disorder". It joined a list of bee problems, including parasitic mites. Beekeepers in Europe and the United States have seen severe losses of bees, and that's raising concerns about the food supply. About a third of U.S. agricultural production relies on pollination by honeybees. We'll hear from both sides of the U.S.-Canada border this morning.
