Despite claims, ORDA officials knew about Martens nomination
Jul 05, 2007 — Last month, the Lake Placid News reported that top officials at the Olympic Regional Development Authority were blind-sided by Governor Spitzer's appointment of a new ORDA chairman. In mid-May, Spitzer chose prominent environmental activist Joe Martens to head the ORDA board. The name was sent in a public document to state Senators. In June, ORDA officials said they were never informed of the decision and hadn't been officially notified. But as Brian Mann reports, several top ORDA leaders were told of the nomination.
