Follensby Park auction offers rare glimpse of Adk history
Aug 02, 2007 — Later this month, Adirondackers will get a glimpse of local history that's been hidden for nearly a hundred years. Antiques and artifacts from the great camp lodge at Follensby Park, near Tupper Lake, will be sold at auction on August 25th. The sale has sparked speculation that the 14,500-acre estate might be sold to a conservation group or to the state of New York. The property includes one of the most beautiful and pristine lakes in the Adirondack Park. Brian Mann spoke with Kip Blanchard from Potsdam. He's the auctioneer who was hired to sell hundreds of objects from the White Birches lodge.
