Big Sky airlines eyes Saranac Lake

Officials from the Saranac Lake area met last week with representatives of Big Sky airlines, the company trying to secure a federal subsidy to provide commercial service at the airports in Lake Clear, Plattsburgh and Rutland, Vermont. According to their proposal to the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Montana-based Big Sky would provide as many as 18 flights a week to Boston as a Delta Connection. As Chris Knight reports, local officials say Big Sky will have to keep their flights affordable if they want local residents to use the service.
