Aug 31, 2007 — Clayton's losing a landmark, but not before one last dance. Saturday night's First Annual Rockin' River Rescue Dance will benefit the Thousand Islands Emergency Relief Service, or "Tiers", and a maintenance fund for the Clayton fire boat. The dance will be held at a shipyard that has stood for decades along the waterfront, near the Antique Boat Museum. Locals also know it as the Clayton Casino, once a dance and social club. The building is coming down this fall to make way for a new hotel. Todd Moe caught up with residents who remember the Clayton Casino ruling the river when swing was king.
