Sep 04, 2007 — Tomorrow, a low-cost air carrier is expected to announce non-stop flights from Plattsburgh to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Executives with Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air have been touring the North Country since the Clinton County Airport moved to the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base. Rodney Brown is Clinton County's interim airport manager. He says, with longer runways, the new airport can accommodate large passenger jets. And, as he told Jonathan Brown, Allegiant Air's service could make Plattsburgh much more attractive to travelers in the North Country, Vermont and Canada.
