A passion for local food
Sep 12, 2007 — A couple of food experts from Vermont will visit the North Country this week. Vermont chef and food historian Amy Trubek, and Vermont Fresh Network Director Meghan Sheradin will speak at GardenShare's annual Local Harvest Dinner in Parishville this Friday night. Both are passionate about bringing locally produced food into homes and restaurants. Todd Moe spoke with them about the pleasures of producing and consuming locally grown foods. Amy Trubek is also an anthropologist who teaches courses about food and culture at UVM. She moved to Vermont 13 years ago and says people are rediscovering the benefits of buying local food.
