"Olympic" Village: Lake Placid Prosperity a Long-Distance Event

Hosting the 2002 Winter Olympics offers Salt Lake City the chance to take the world stage--building prestige and boosting the local economy. Lake Placid hosted the Winter games in 1932 and again in 1980. The "Olympic village" is now a busy resort town and the Adirondacks' most popular tourist destination.
