Memorial Day Postcard: Fort Ticonderoga

A small crowd gathered yesterday at Fort Ticonderoga to remember some of the first soldiers to die defending the country. A raid on the Fort in 1775 helped to launch the American Revolution. North Country Public Radio's Brian Mann sends this audio postcard.

Part 2 of 3, Rediscovering the Battle of Valcour Island

This month--225 years ago--Benedict Arnold launched his fleet of ships on Lake Champlain. The history of that campaign is now being rediscovered and re-evaluated. Archeologists are pulling long-lost artifacts from the muddy silt near the battle of Valcour Island.
