(06/17/11) Our series, the Adirondack Attic, with Andy Flynn continues. You may know Andy from his series of "Adirondack Attic" books on local history. He uses the objects people make, use and leave behind to tell stories about the life and times of the region. (08/28/07) You never really know what the North Country's big events of the summer will be. This year, hands down, the attention grabbers were a couple of big auctions. Fox Island, near Cape Vincent, sold over the weekend for $3.78 million to New Jersey resident Vance Wilson. In Tupper Lake, more than four hundred buyers turned out for the sale of antiques and other treasures from Follensby Park, one of the Adirondacks' most extravagant, private great camps. Brian Mann joined the crowd on Saturday and sent this audio postcard.

(05/27/05) Every so often during The 8 O'Clock Hour, we'll introduce you to a North Country resident. It could be your neighbor or a friend -- someone with an odd job or a story to tell. Today, we visit the workshop and showroom of a Franklin county antique clock repairman. It's a rare profession these days, and George Emery's shop is a place where time doesn't stand still.

Todd Moe talks with Ted Comstock who's spent the last 25 years appraising books, paintings, postcards, photographs or what he calls "paper ephemera".

(06/08/04) A packbasket, barn loom, mountaineering boots, war canoe, a strand of Grace Brown's hair - just some of the many items tucked away in the archives at the Adirondack Museum, and profiled in a new book by journalist Andy Flynn. New York State's Mountain Heritage, "Adirondack Attic", Volume One - tells the stories behind the artifacts in the museum. It's a collection of 45 "Adirondack Attic" newspaper columns from last year. Todd Moe talks with Andy Flynn.
