Report: NY in hunt for big computer plant upstate

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) Gov. Andrew Cuomo says he may soon make a major economic announcement for upstate New York as published reports say a computer plant codenamed "Project Azalea" is in negotiations to create 1,000 jobs.

Cuomo refused to say anything about the project he hinted at during a news conference Wednesday. He called it a potential "big economic development piece" for the long struggling region.  Go to full article

NY state overtime costs up 11 percent

Vermont House to debate "aid-in-dying" bill

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) The Vermont House is set to debate legislation that would allow doctors to prescribe lethal medication to terminally ill patients who request it.

The measure, variously labeled "physician-assisted suicide" or "death with dignity," has been the subject of two public hearings this year.  Go to full article
