8 o'clock Hip-Hop
Canton, NY, Feb 26, 2010 — Poetry, music and hip-hop will merge tonight in a performance at St. Lawrence University. Urban Verbs co-creators Hakim Bellamy, Carlos Contreras and Colin Diles Hazelbaker, artists-in-residence this week, will lead the performance that, as they say, "blurs the lines between music, poetry and the daily grind." Saranac Lake hosts winter Art Walk
Saranac Lake, NY, Dec 04, 2009 — Today and tomorrow, Saranac Lake artists will welcome visitors to check out their studios and galleries during the first Holiday Art Walk. Todd Moe talks with artist Georgeanne Gaffney about exploring art in downtown Saranac Lake this weekend. The regular "3rd Thursday" Art Walks have been going on in the village for over 10 years. St. Lawrence River artists celebrate creativity
Jun 30, 2009 — A group of artisans, musicians and authors share their talents and celebrate creativity at the annual Mare's Wares Arts Fest Wednesday. More than 30 area artists will be displaying their unique works rain or shine. The event is organized by the Artisans of the River Valley. Adk artists giving back to their community
Jun 24, 2009 — Dozens of Adirondack artists have donated their works to help fund a social services agency in the southern Adirondacks. The artwork will be exhibited and sold at a silent auction this Sunday at the Fern Lodge in Chester, NY. Lake Placid/Wilmington connecting youth with artists
Nov 15, 2006 — Teens in the High Peaks are taking part in a series of arts workshops this fall hosted by the Lake Placid/Wilmington Connecting Youth and Communities Coalition in Lake Placid and Wilmington. In Wilmington, the program will be held Tuesday afternoons in the basement of the Church of the Nazarene (3:30-5:30 pm). The Lake Placid workshops are held Wednesday evenings (6-8 pm) at the Shipman Youth Center. Doug Haney, a spokesman for the coalition, says the free afternoon-evening arts workshops are for teens in grades 7-12. Go to full article
