Albany, NY, Jun 17, 2011 — This week, it's been all about same sex marriage in Albany. Supporters, led by Governor Cuomo, have been lobbying hard for a vote in the State Senate. Now they're one vote shy of passage.

Albany, NY, Mar 22, 2011 — A joint budget conference committee has restored money for the Tug Hill Commission in the state budget. According to State Senator Patty Ritchie's office, the Assembly agreed to the Senate's funding level of $1.1 million. That's a 10 percent cut from last year, on par with other state agencies. Saranac Lake, NY, Oct 15, 2010 — This is expected to be a big year for Republicans. But Democrats appear to have a very real shot at capturing the 114th Assembly seat that represents Clinton and Franklin counties.

The district has been a GOP stronghold for generations. But this year, Assemblywoman Janet Duprey, a Republican, is locked in a bitter contest with Conservative candidate David Kimmel.

Their divisive battle could leave an opening for Democrat Rudy Johnston.

Peru, NY, Nov 06, 2009 — Assemblywoman Janet Duprey, who lives in the town of Peru, was a staunch supporter of Republican congressional candidate Dede Scozzafava. The two women share a number of maverick views that clash with their party leadership, including their support for a woman's right to choose and gay marriage. In the days since Tuesday's election Duprey says her office has been barraged with angry emails, including some that threaten her with physical violence.
