(08/05/10) George W. Bush was in the Adirondacks over the weekend. According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, the former President stayed with Harlon Crow, a Texas businessman who owns Camp topridge on Upper St. Regis Lake.

During an outing on Saturday, Bush met a group of birders from the Wild Center who were visiting the Bloomingdale Bog trail near Saranac Lake.

The measure extends a pair of tax breaks - one benefiting investors, the other upper-middle-income families. Democrats contend the tax breaks are another gift to the rich that only plunges the nation deeper in debt. President Bush's approval ratings are the lowest of his presidency, and congressional re-election campaigns are getting underway.
