Theatre Review: "Pride and Prejudice" in Ottawa

"Pride and Prejudice," a co-production of the National Arts Centre English Theatre and Theatre Calgary, is running at the NAC through December 8. Theatre Review: "Fly Me to the Moon" at the Great Canadian Theatre Company

The Canadian premiere of "Fly Me to the Moon" is running at the Great Canadian Theatre Company in Ottawa through November 18. It's a terrific black comedy by the author of "Stone in His Pockets." It tells the story of one disastrous day in the lives of Frances and Loretta, two home health care workers in Belfast.  Go to full article

Theatre Review: "The Glace Bay Miners' Museum" at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa

"The Glace Bay Miners' Museum" has opened the English Theatre season at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa and runs through November 3. Theatre Review: "Tempting Providence" at the 1000 Islands Playhouse

"Tempting Providence" tells the story of a remarkable nurse, Myra Bennett. She spent her life caring for the population of the bleak Newfoundland coast. By the time she died in 1990 she had received medals of honor from both the Queen and the Canadian government. The production runs through October 27 at the 1000 Islands Playhouse in Gananoque.  Go to full article

Theatre Review: "The Secret Mask" at the Great Canadian Theatre Company

The Secret Mask has opened the season at the Great Canadian Theatre Company in Ottawa and runs through September 30. The play tells the story of George who gets a call out of the blue to come help his father Ernie who is recovering from a stroke and aphasia. Ernie left the family when George was two and their attempts to reconcile are both heartbreaking and funny.  Go to full article
