Dickens' Descendant to Perform A Christmas Carol at SLU

Gerald Charles Dickens, actor and great-great grandson of author Charles Dickens, will give a performance of A Christmas Carol tonight (7:30 pm) in Gulick Theatre at St. Lawrence University. Home Sweet Home: The Art of Gingerbread

Fruitcakes, cookies and sweets are an annual tradition in many households during the holidays. Next month, visitors to the Traditional Arts In Upstate New York, or TAUNY, gallery in Canton will be asked to vote for their favorite gingerbread house. TAUNY is offering a chance to learn the tasty art of building gingerbread structures - from cabins to castles. Award-winning gingerbread architect Sue Wilder will offer two workshops. An advanced class geared toward adults tomorrow from 10 to 1 at the Canton United Methodist Church. And a beginners class on Saturday, December 11 for families and young builders. Last year, Todd Moe visited a group of eager gingerbread bakers gathered in Canton to learn some secrets of making gingerbread houses.
