The Comptroller's numbers show that the already sluggish economic recovery in New York is losing momentum. Dec 30, 2010 — State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli released a scathing audit of the village of Lake Placid's finances Wednesday. DiNapoli's office found village employees had collected more than $110,000 in payments for accrued leave time and benefits that they were not entitled to receive. State auditors said the village should get law enforcement officials involved and try to recover the money.
