Preview: "Blues for Books" Concert in Canton

The latest concert in the SeaComm Blues for Books series is set for Friday night starting at 8 at the Best Western University Inn in Canton. The concert will feature the blues group, the Conrad Story Blues Band. Celebrating its fifth year; Blues for Books is a fund-raiser event for First Book of St. Lawrence County. First Book is the regional affiliate of National First Book, a non-profit organization supporting family literacy by providing children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new book. Todd Moe talks with Rick Bates, of the Conrad Story Blues Band and SeaComm Federal Credit Union's Jerry Manor about Friday night's benefit concert and the Blues for Books program.  Go to full article

Preview: Conrad Story Blues Band Benefit Concerts

Back for a third year, the Blues for Books fundraisers will feature performances by the Conrad Story Blues Band. There's a benefit concert tonight (Friday, 8pm) at the Glass Onion in Canton. The popular band also presents a special benefit concert Saturday night at 8 in support of the Thomas E. O'Shaughnessy Center for Assistive Technology at SUNY Potsdam. It'll be in Satterlee Hall's Sheard Literacy Center. Todd Moe talks with Rick Bates about the benefit concerts and the group's new cd Poutine.  Go to full article
