Jun 02, 2003 — Presidential hopefuls and other Democratic luminaries gathered in Lake Placid over the weekend for a rally held by New York's Democratic Rural Conference. The group hopes to focus attention on rural issues--everything from farm policy to poverty to acid rain. May 26, 2003 — Organizers say four contenders for the Democratic party's presidential nomination will visit Lake Placid this week, for a two-day forum on rural issues.
