Adk skier Demong wins silver at World Championship

Vermontville skier Bill Demong captured a silver medal over the weekend at the Nordic combined world championship in Sapporo, Japan. Demong sprinted into the top three following several near-misses earlier this year. Brian Mann has details.  Go to full article

Adirondack Nordic combined skier competes in Japan

World championships are underway in Sapporo, Japan, for the Nordic Combined, a sport that combines cross-country ski racing with long distance ski jumping. One of the top competitors in the world is Bill DeMong from Vermontville. He's having his best year since 2002. Vermontville's Demong Finishes 25th In Nordic Combined

The Olympics continue today in Italy. Vermontville native Bill Demong competed Tuesday in the Nordic combined, an event that combines ski jumping with cross-country racing. He finished 25th in a field of 49 racers. Brian Mann caught up with Bill's mother Helen while the race was still underway.  Go to full article

Vermontville Champion Injured in Germany

A top North Nountry ski-racer has been hospitalized in Germany, following a head-injury suffered in a hotel swimming pool. Vermontville's Bill Demong fractured his skull on Wednesday in the town of Winterberg. Martha Foley reports.  Go to full article
