Late State Budget "Birthday" in Albany

Government reform groups held a mock "birthday party" yesterday in Albany for the imaginary person they called late budget boy. The groups were trying to dramatize the arrival of another new fiscal year without a state budget in place. It's the 18th straight year that the budget has been late in New York state. The groups said late budget boy has now come of age with his 18th birthday. Karen Dewitt reports.

Tax Cut Impact on North Country Counties will be Small

The federal tax cut passed this year by Congress includes a refund that will soon pump billions of dollars back in the American economy. A breakdown of the refund shows that a tiny fraction of the money will flow to counties here in the North Country. Brian Mann has details.  Go to full article
