Sep 20, 2005 — A major route connecting the St. Lawrence Valley and points south will be closed for two months, maybe more. Heavy rain over the weekend washed out two spots along Rt. 56 south of South Colton. Department of Transportation engineers and safety inspectors were on the scene as the waters receded. Jul 13, 2005 — The Glens Falls Post Star is reporting this morning that a dam that collapsed in the town of Fort Ann was never inspected by the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
