Lakeside living on Lake Champlain

Bill Howland is director of the Lake Champlain Basin Program, an organization that "works in partnership with government agencies from New York, Vermont, and Québec, private organizations, local communities, and individuals to coordinate and fund efforts that benefit the Lake Champlain Basin's water quality, fisheries, wetlands, wildlife, recreation, and cultural resources."

Intimate views of Lake Champlain from water level

A new book celebrates the joys and adventures of kayaking on Lake Champlain. It offers a view of the big lake from water level. Margy Holden and Cathy Frank spent five summers paddling their kayaks around the lake and its islands. They logged more than 700 miles. Todd Moe talks with them about their book, A Kayaker's Guide to Lake Champlain. They both live on Grand Isle, and planned the trip after a casual conversation at the local grocery store. Cathy says it began with a paddle around Grand Isle.  Go to full article
