People: Sandy Maine, green entrepreneur, author of "Clean, Naturally"

Todd Moe talks with Sandy Maine, North Country resident and founder of SunFeather Natural Soap Company, about her new book, "Clean, Naturally--recipes for Body, Home and Spirit." It's a how-to book for homemakers who want a more eco-friendly and economical household. Todd caught up with Sandy at her Parishville farmhouse that she shares with her husband and their young children. Sandy says her fascination with soapmaking began as a child.

Potsdam Coop Plans Wood-fired Bakery

A small town in Italy is helping shape the future of the Potsdam Food Co-op. This summer, the Co-op plans to open a bakery, complete with a wood-fired brick oven. The idea comes from a co-op member who, after trips to northern Italy, built a brick hearth in his backyard. As Jody Tosti reports, the European influences will give the co-ops bakery a unique look and its breads a unique flavor.  Go to full article
