Nov 19, 2013 — A new education resource center for people exploring alternatives to the traditional school model will be launching a pilot program early next year.
Maria Corse, founder and director of Deep Root Center for Self-Directed Learning in Canton, believes that North Country students, 8 to 18, who aren't thriving in a typical school setting, deserve access to more options.
Corse is recruiting members for the pilot program in January, and is holding an open house tonight at 7 pm in Canton Free Library's Paige Room. She told Todd Moe that Deep Root Center is a resource center rather than a school, and it seeks to make homeschooling a viable option. Go to full article
