Jun 07, 2005 — The North Country's newest luxury resort is nearing completion in Lake Placid. Whiteface Lodge will offer hotel rooms and condominiums. There will also be a year-round ice rink, a spa and even a movie theater. Construction of another luxury hotel has just begun on the opposite side of the village. Tourism experts say more of the region's visitors are looking for this kind of high-end extravagance.
