Fire Protection Degree at JCC Could Increase Number of Firefighters in North Country

A new curriculum for future firefighters may be coming to Jefferson Community College. Its still in the early stages, but college and area fire officials are putting their heads together to find out if a Fire Protection Technology program is viable on the JCC campus. As Jody Tosti reports, the new course would allow students more time in the classroom instead of the car.  Go to full article

Senator Clinton Visits JCC

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton made a pair of appearances in upstate New York yesterday to outline her economic development plan and to reinforce her campaign commitments to revitalize the upstate economy. Senator Clinton spoke at events in Rome and at Jefferson Community College in Watertown, where she pledged to promote the North Country as a great place for businesses to locate and expand.
