(01/06/12) Bombardier transportation has temporarily laid off about 100 workers from its assembly plant in Plattsburgh.

The company let go about 60 production workers and 40 temporary workers on Tuesday. About 210 people are still working at the plant. more

Cuomo, PEF leadership hope for "yes" vote on new contract
There’s some significant changes in this revised contract.
(11/03/11) The votes will be counted for the second time this fall on a contract offer between the state worker union the Public Employees Federation, and Governor Andrew Cuomo.

PEF members rejected the first offer. This time, if the contract is rejected, the governor has vowed to lay off 3500 state workers. In Albany, Karen DeWitt reports. more
